Azerbaijan Announces Preliminary Squad for World Judo Championships

Baku will host the World Judo Championships from 4 to 11 October. Azerbaijan will be represented by 23 judoka — 17 men and six women — across 12 weight categories at the year’s most prestigious judo event.

The Azerbaijani judoka will compete under the guidance of Performance Director and men’s national team head coach Richard Trautmann, senior coaches Elkhan Mammadov, Elchin Ismayilov, Robert Krawczyk and Slavko Tekic, women’s national team head coach Amina Abdellatif, and senior coach Sasha Herkenrath-Wimar.

The individual competitions will take place at the National Gymnastics Arena from 4 to 10 October, followed by the mixed team event on 11 October.
