A new judo hall has commenced operations in the Sahil settlement

A new judo hall has commenced operations in the Sahil settlement of Garadagh district. An opening ceremony was held on this occasion, attended by Rashad Rasulllu, Executive Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (AJF), Natig Baghirov, Adviser to the AJF President, and other officials.

The hall, equipped by the AJF with tatami mats meeting modern standards, has a total area of 100 square metres. It also includes coaches’ and changing rooms. The new facility has created conditions for 100 athletes to practise judo.

It should be noted that between 2022 and 2026, the Azerbaijan Judo Federation opened new judo halls in Ganja, Sumgayit, Gusar, Aghstafa, Zagatala, Goranboy, Sabirabad, Zirə settlement of Baku, Aghdash, Kurdamir, Astara, Jalilabad, Tartar, Gakh, Imishli, Shabran, Mosul village of Zagatala, and Vəndam settlement of Gabala. In addition, a total of 14,180 tatami mats were distributed to 198 sports halls in Baku and the regions.
