Aysun Mammadova Wins Poznan European Cup

The Junior European Cup in judo held in Poznan, Poland, has come to an end.

On the final day of competition, one member of our national team climbed to the top step of the podium. Competing in the -52 kg weight category, Aysun Mammadova defeated all her opponents to win the gold medal.

On her way to the final, our judoka overcame Nina Potok (Poland), Lola Hodson (Great Britain) and Sofia Kordova (Sweden). In the decisive bout, Aysun Mammadova also defeated another British representative, Kate Chisholm, to become the winner of an international junior tournament for the first time in her career.

It should be noted that 267 judoka from 21 countries competed in the event.
