Azerbaijan Judo Federation Launches a New Strategic Phase

The Azerbaijan Judo Federation (AJF) enters a new strategic phase to grow judo nationwide under the slogan “Discover Yourself.”
This phase positions judo not only as a combat sport, but as a pathway to respect, self-development, and character building.

AJF’s overarching goal is to make judo accessible and engaging for everyone—women and men, children and youth. This approach aims to boost the sport’s popularity across the country and help uncover new talent. At the heart of the strategy is communicating judo’s core values to a wide audience and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

AJF Executive Vice President Rashad Rasullu said:

“Regardless of age, playing sport is one of the most important ways to stay physically and mentally healthy. The main goal of our new strategy is to bring our initiatives to life under the ‘Discover Yourself’ slogan and bring judo’s values even closer to our society. We believe the willpower and discipline forged on the tatami will contribute to Azerbaijan’s strong future.”

Within the new strategy, AJF will:

• Expand opportunities for children and youth in schools and regions;

• Implement targeted programs to engage girls in sport;

• Organize open community events to increase families’ and the public’s interest in judo.

All activities will follow a unified communication line rooted in judo’s core philosophy—respect and self-improvement.

AJF will also use its new social media channel @judoazerbaijan to share regular updates on the strategy’s pillars, social programs, and initiatives for children, youth, and parents. Content will also highlight judo values, development pathways for beginners, and everyday stories from the community.
