Azerbaijani Judoka Win 11 Medals at International Tournament in Krakow
The international judo tournament in Krakow, Poland, has come to an end.
Competing in the senior category, Balabay Aghayev (-66 kg) defeated all his opponents to claim the gold medal.
In the U-16 age category, Agil Naghiyev (-55 kg), Aykhan Abbaszade (-60 kg) and Mahammadali Mehdi (-81 kg) also took the top spot on the podium.
Earlier, Azerbaijan’s cadet boys’ team had won seven medals in the U-18 category — three gold, two silver and two bronze.
Ali Abdullayev (-60 kg), Huseyn Shikhaliyev (-66 kg) and Omar Atayev (-81 kg) claimed gold medals, Dunyamali Asdanli (-66 kg) and Ruslan Kazimov (+90 kg) earned silver, while Ravan Mammadli (-55 kg) and Ali Jafarov (-66 kg) secured bronze medals.
Overall, Azerbaijani judoka concluded the international tournament with 11 medals — seven gold, two silver and two bronze. Azerbaijan finished first in both the U-16 and U-18 age categories.
