Azerbaijani Judoka Win 11 Medals at the International Open Tournament
The International Open Judo Tournament held in Belgium has concluded. On the second day of competition, Azerbaijani judoka added 4 more medals to their tally.
In the men’s event held in the city of Vise, Yashar Najafov (-66 kg) won all his contests on the tatami and claimed the gold medal. In the same weight category, Tofiq Mammadov (-66 kg) secured a bronze medal, while Jasur Ibadli (-81 kg) also finished in third place. In the women’s event held in Herstal, Gultaj Mammadaliyeva (-52 kg) earned a bronze medal.
Thus, the Azerbaijan national team completed the tournament with a total of 11 medals: 3 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze.
It should be noted that on the first day of competition, Murad Muradli (-60 kg) and Jamal Feyziyev (+100 kg) won gold, Abil Yusubov (-73 kg) and Zelim Tchkayev (-90 kg) took silver, while Farid Garayev (-60 kg), Kamran Suleymanov (-73 kg) and Ramazan Ahmadov (+100 kg) claimed bronze medals.
