Azerbaijani judokas to compete at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games
From 8 to 10 November, judo competitions will be held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, as part of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games.
According to the local organizing committee, each participating country has been allocated quotas for 5 male and 7 female judokas. Azerbaijan will be represented by 12 athletes under the leadership of Performance Director and Head Coach of the men’s national team, Richard Trautmann, and Head Coach of the women’s national team, Amina Abdellatif.
When selecting the team, special consideration was given to the inclusion of reserve athletes for the mixed team event due to possible injuries and other factors. Unfortunately, due to the quota restrictions imposed by the organizers, our national team will not be able to compete with a full lineup at the Games.
More than 30 countries are expected to take part in the judo competitions.
