Coach Certification Program for Judo Continues
The coach certification program jointly organized by the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (ACF) and the Azerbaijan Sports Academy is progressing successfully.
In the first (theoretical) phase, participants received comprehensive instruction on teaching judo, sports pedagogy, creating a safe training environment, stages of athlete development, and other core theoretical topics. Coaches who successfully passed the theoretical exam have advanced to the next phase—the ongoing practical training.
During the practical phase, held over five days, participants gain real, hands-on skills in properly organizing training sessions, applying safe techniques, planning practices, and communicating effectively with athletes. The sessions are delivered by the federation’s experienced specialists.
Participants who successfully complete both phases will be awarded a joint professional coaching certificate issued by the Azerbaijan Sports Academy and the Azerbaijan Judo Federation. This certificate will make a significant contribution to introducing unified standards for judo coaches across the country and to developing a high-quality coaching workforce.
The program’s primary goals are to align judo coaching in the country with professional standards, broaden the use of safe teaching methods, and build a robust, quality-focused coaching system.
