On 4 April, the Cadet European Judo Cup kicked off in Ganja.

On the opening day of the international tournament held at the Ganja Sports Palace, winners and medallists were determined in 8 weight categories.

Azerbaijani judoka completed the day with a total of 13 medals — 1 gold, 4 silver and 8 bronze.

Rza Khalilli (-55 kg) defeated all his opponents to win the gold medal. Fatima Farmanzade (-48 kg), Farid Rzazade (-50 kg), Ibrahim Talibov (-55 kg) and Ilkin Garayev (-66 kg) finished with silver medals. Bronze medals were claimed by Sunay Salamova (-40 kg), Fatima Abdullayeva (-44 kg), Konul Eyvazli (-52 kg), Zahra Movlamverdiyeva and Narmin Agamirzazade (both -52 kg), Farid Khudiyev (-55 kg), Mehman Asgarov (-60 kg) and Sanan Piriyev (-66 kg).

 

It should be noted that the tournament will conclude tomorrow with contests in the remaining 8 weight categories.
