International Technical Seminar Gets Underway in Baku
An International Technical Seminar, jointly organized by the European Judo Union (EJU) and the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, has begun in Baku.
The sessions are led by Kodokan expert, two-time Olympic medallist and three-time world champion Misato Nakamura, alongside Olympic medallist Maria Centracchio. The seminar's instructional team also includes EJU Sport Commissioner and Olympic medallist Rustam Orujov, coach of Azerbaijan's cadet boys' national team Kotaro Sasaki, as well as local experts Rafiq Najafov and Ismayil Rzayev.
More than 200 cadet judoka are taking part in the three-day seminar. Throughout the sessions, participants are introduced to modern technical and tactical approaches, the finer details of judo techniques, and contemporary training methodologies, while benefiting from the knowledge and experience of world-class judoka. The seminar offers a valuable opportunity not only to develop new skills, but also to gain insight into the careers of elite athletes and draw inspiration from their achievements.
On 25–26 July, Azerbaijan will host the European Judo Hopes Tournament, an event included in the European Judo Union calendar. Participants of the seminar will have the opportunity to put their newly acquired knowledge into practice at the international competition.
