The “Judo in Schools” project, jointly implemented by the Azerbaijan Judo Federation and the Agency for Preschool and General Education, is ongoing. Within the framework of the project, judo sessions based on physical education classes are being held for 4th, 5th and 6th grade students at Secondary School No. 250 in Baku’s Nizami district.

During the lessons, schoolchildren are taught the basic rules of judo, safe falling techniques (ukemi) and fundamental movement skills. The sessions are conducted by internationally certified coach Niyamaddin Abbasov.

Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded certificates. At the end of the course, children and their parents will also be informed about nearby judo clubs, offered the opportunity to take trial classes and provided with simple registration options to join the sport. It should be noted that, at the initial stage, the project covers 4,000 students in 10 schools across the capital.
