The Azerbaijan Judo Federation (ACF) has decided to strengthen its coaching staff in order to support the professional development of talented athletes, improve their technical and tactical preparation and enhance technical correctness in the execution of physical movements.

According to the decision, Orkhan Safarov has been appointed coach of the cadet boys’ national team, while Terlan Karimov has been appointed coach of the cadet girls’ national team.

After completing their active competitive careers, both specialists have, with the support of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, improved their professional knowledge and skills and successfully graduated from the International Judo Federation Academy (IJF Academy).

Orkhan Safarov has also taken part in a one-month coaching programme at Tokai University in Japan, gaining practical experience in modern training methodologies. He is currently studying on the Level 2 coaching course at the BCF Academy. In parallel, he works as an education expert at the ACF, contributing to the professional development of local coaches and athletes. He is also involved in the teaching process at the Azerbaijan Sports Academy, delivering both theoretical and practical classes.

Terlan Karimov is actively engaged in promoting sport in the country, encouraging young people and children to adopt a healthy lifestyle and integrating them into sport. He also plays an active role in the educational activities carried out by the Azerbaijan Judo Federation in connection with the professional development of coaches nationwide.

It should be noted that both coaches will work with cadet judoka who have distinguished themselves in the “Selection of Talents” tournaments and have been chosen for the “Hopes of the Future” training programme. They will carry out systematic work to improve the athletes’ technical and tactical skills and their level of physical preparation.
