Our junior judoka have visited the Heydar Aliyev Center and the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum

Members of the national youth judo team visited the Heydar Aliyev Center and the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.

The judokas first toured the Heydar Aliyev Center. The team members were given detailed information about the architectural concept of the center, the international exhibitions hosted there, and the expositions reflecting the modern stage of Azerbaijan’s development.

The athletes familiarised themselves with the sections dedicated to the life and work of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and showed great interest in the exhibits showcasing Azerbaijan’s statehood history, culture and arts. As part of the excursion, an educational presentation was also organised for the young athletes.

Afterwards, the team members visited the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, which houses masterpieces of Azerbaijani carpet art. The judokas were informed about carpet-weaving traditions spanning from ancient times to the present day, as well as ornaments and compositions characteristic of different regions.

The main purpose of the visit was to broaden the worldview of the young athletes, to foster in them a sense of attachment to national and moral values, and to familiarise them more closely with Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage.
