Ruslan Pashayev Crowned Champion at Austria Grand Prix
The IJF Grand Prix in judo has kicked off in Linz, Austria. On the opening day, a member of the Azerbaijani national team climbed to the top step of the podium.
Competing in the -66 kg weight category, Ruslan Pashayev won the gold medal. On his way to the final, he claimed consecutive victories over Israel’s Eran Fix, Serbia’s Matija Jeremic, as well as Spain’s Adrian Nieto Chinarro and David Garcia Torne.
In the decisive bout, Ruslan Pashayev defeated Brazil’s Ronald Lima in golden score with a tsubame-gaeshi technique to secure the title.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan national team is represented by seven judoka at the Linz Grand Prix.
