The dates of the 2026 World Judo Championships have been rescheduled

The dates of the 2026 World Judo Championships have been rescheduled

According to the decision of the International Judo Federation (IJF), the dates of the 2026 World Judo Championships (Senior category) to be held in Baku have been revised.

As per the updated schedule, the World Championships will take place from 4 to 11 October 2026. The decision to change the competition dates aims to avoid overlap with other major international sporting events and to ensure a wider global television audience for the tournament.

The individual contests are set to be held from 4 to 10 October, while the mixed team event will take place on 11 October.

This will mark Baku’s second time hosting the prestigious event. The Azerbaijani capital previously organized the World Judo Championships in 2018.
