On 21 February, the first leg of the U-14 League competition in judo got underway.

On the opening day of the event held at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex, 347 judoka took to the tatami. Girls competed in the -36 kg, -44 kg, -52 kg, -63 kg and +70 kg categories, while boys fought in the -38 kg, -46 kg, -55 kg and -66 kg divisions.

A total of 586 judoka (488 boys, 98 girls) from 94 clubs and sports organisations will compete for medals across 18 weight categories.

It should be noted that three legs of the U-14 League are planned for this year. These competitions will play an important role in forming the athletes’ ranking list.
