Turan Bayramov Claims Silver Medal in Tbilisi
The Tbilisi Grand Slam in judo has kicked off in the capital of Georgia. On the opening day of the IJF World Judo Tour event, one of our judoka stepped onto the podium.
Competing in the -66 kg category, Turan Bayramov defeated representatives of France, Russia, Germany, Finland and Georgia by ippon on his way to the final. In the decisive bout, our judoka lost to Kazakhstan’s Nurkanat Serikbayev by yuko and was awarded the silver medal. It was the 23-year-old judoka’s first Grand Slam medal in his new weight category and the fourth of his career.
It should be noted that four more of our judoka will take to the tatami tomorrow.
