Azerbaijani Judoka Zelim Tckaev Wins Bronze at World Championships

Azerbaijani judoka Zelim Tckaev has claimed a bronze medal at the World Judo Championships held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.

The 26-year-old athlete, competing in the –81 kg weight category, defeated the UAE representative Nugzari Tatalashvili in the bronze medal match during the golden score period, winning by penalty points.

With this result, Tckaev has secured the first World Championship medal of his career. Just as he did at the European Championships on April 25, he once again took home a bronze medal. The Azerbaijani athlete has managed to earn medals at both the continental and world championships within a span of 52 days.

It should be noted that this is the first medal won by Team Azerbaijan at the current World Championships.
