Ibrahim Talibov Wins Gold at Summer Youth Olympic Games

Azerbaijani judoka Ibrahim Talibov has won a gold medal at the 4th Summer Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, the capital of Senegal.

Competing in the -55 kg weight category, Talibov emerged victorious in all his contests. He defeated Ibrahim Moussa of the Central African Republic, Mutaz Hebah of Saudi Arabia and Jona Zvorc of Croatia to claim the Youth Olympic title.

With this achievement, Azerbaijan secured its second gold medal in judo at the Summer Youth Olympic Games. Previously, Vugar Talibov (-66 kg) became champion at the 2018 edition in Buenos Aires.

The result also brings Azerbaijan's total judo medal tally at the Summer Youth Olympic Games to four. Natig Gurbanli (-55 kg) and Leyla Aliyeva (-44 kg) previously won silver medals at the 2014 Games in Nanjing.
